WORLD BOOK DAY - 3RD MARCH 2022
On 3rd March 2022 pupils and staff came to school wearing their pyjamas, onsies and loungewear for World Book Day. In the afternoon each adult read one of their favourite books and the children could choose which book they wished to listen to whilst enjoying a cup of hot chocolate and a biscuit.
The activities for World Book Day across the school included:
· Buddy reading where older children had the opportunity to read with the younger pupils
· Teacher book quiz as part of a special whole school event. Each class was represented by their teacher to answer different types of questions about children’s books. The pupils cheered their adults on and enjoyed this fun quiz.
· Children visited the library for reading sessions over the day
· In class, children made their own piece of reading bunting about their favourite book. This will be linked together to make a whole school bunting to remind us of this special day.
All pupils brought home a £1 book voucher to spend on a world book day £1 book or put towards a more expensive book at participating retailers. Thank you very much to Miss Ward for organising this fun day to celebrate and enjoy reading.
