REVAMPED OUTDOOR SPACE FOR CLASS 1
We are pleased to share with you that over the May half term the Class 1 outdoor area has been revamped. The area had become very worn, especially the mound slopes, which had become bare and uneven. As you may be aware, part of Early Years learning is to provide an outdoor space and our aim was to make this accessible all year round. In addition, we hope to inspire the imagination of our youngest children so we have added a “moat” around our “castle” and an island for adventures!
As well as the area being laid with artificial turf, we are creating a wild flower border along the perimeter of the fence, a mini-beast hotel and have created a raised garden bed which includes sensory plants such as rosemary and lavender. The children were very excited to see their new area and have been taking full advantage since they returned to school.
