Advice to parents for head lice
Head lice and nits are very common in young children and their families. They do not have anything to do with dirty hair and are picked up by head-to-head contact. Nits are the eggs of head lice.
If you find head lice we ask that you treat it immediately, but there is no need to keep your child at home once you have treated their hair. You may wish to check all family members as well.

Norfolk County Council have also issued advice to parents as well.
